Just A Superb Weekend.
« on: 08.03. 2021 13:50 »
How do you improve on an excellent weekend?

The weather was ideal, 200 old bikes gathered for a superbly organized 2 day run totaling 225 miles. Covid was respected and returned the compliment and remained thousands of miles away, the Bunbury (Western Australia) Indian Harley club hosted its annual premier event.

Roads were safe an mostly traffic free back roads. Camaraderie, respect and admiration of other machines and riders stories was high. Morning teas, lunches and the evening BBQ were superb. Live music where the band produced an excellent selection of 60’s music rounded out a sublime Saturday.

The bikes 3 of us took proved to be extremely reliable BSA’s, a 51 plunger A10, 54 SA A10 and a 60 Super Rocket.

The only way to improve such a weekend was to roundly cheer as “Orabanda” was awarded the trophy for the Overall Two Day Rally Winner. His demeanor in receiving the award is seen as he invited his wife who was pillion for the rally to receive the award along with him.
Congratulations mate. A most worthy winner.

It would have been no surprise to anyone on this forum to see Orabanda helping a guy on a matchless. The riders clutch problems were further complicated by an extremely loose gearbox.

Spring has just hit here in Canada with a week done just over 10C and thoughts about putting insurance on one of the bikes. Quite jealous to see a bike gathering as the last 24 months of events being cancelled is a long time and probably a few months more to wait. Good for you folks and looked a great time.
