Egli Vincent
« on: 14.06. 2021 19:29 »
On Sunday morning I attended a VMCC meeting. One of the bikes in the car park was this Egli Vincent. Do we like it?

I suspect it was the fastest bike in the car park! Bit too big a beast for me and probably more attractive from the other side.

a few more pix, both sides all angles, from the emporium of the late Patrick Godet, Vincent specialist and all round good guy here in France  . . .

Patrick dropped by here with his 1300cc much-modified machine with huge sidecar designed to take his ever-present 140lb Newfoundland hound. He is much missed.

Vincents have never really been my bag (get me coat?). I can't really even say why - and it's not even as if I don't have an enthusiasm for the V twin layout. Would have liked a Brough mind.

Original Vincents looked good (in my opinion) but not this one. Tank, stays, seat ........

I agree. I don't know why some people  fit them out like a modern bike, and changing it's visual "character" in the process.
If you want a bike with a huge touring rack and indicators there must be a million more suitable (and much cheaper) bikes to choose from.

I don't think you can improve on the looks of a standard Vincent, apart from those black prince/knight things.
Having said that, I wouldn't kick the Egli out of bed.
