Ariel fork help for B33
« on: 13.09. 2021 07:03 »
This is my first post.
Ive just bought a 1958 B33, that has ariel hubs  the fork sliders seem wrong to me, the spindle holes a not threaded and only the smaller one has a pinch bolt, this seems wrong as the is nothing to locate the larger diameter leg axially. I cant believe this is correct.
The sliders are now powder coated but when the came they were different colours so may have come from two different set ups.

Can anybody help.

The Ariel type right hand fork bottom is not threaded for the spindle, which is located by a large nut on the outside.

As above post by Julian, insert axle/spindle, do spindle nut up on right, make sure the left leg has not been pulled over and jammed, then do the clamp up on the left leg. My A10 has the ariel hubs.

Here’s a pic of Ariel style fork sliders as fitted to my A10

The wheel spindle on mine is 1 inch dia at the un threaded end
