BSA A7 Dynamo drive issue
« on: 22.09. 2009 09:10 »
Hi all, I have just starting working on a 1960 BSA shooting star.
The bike rides well, and is part restored.
Problem I have is no output from the dynamo.
This is due to the chain and lower drive sproket.
The chain has snapped at some stage, also all the rivets holding the drive sproket to the carrier have sheared.
I have sourced a new chain, but wondered if any of you have re-riveted the sproket and carrier back together.
What rivets did you use, and was it succesfull.

Chears

Hi Dave,  It would probably be easier to buy a new sprocket.
Cheers,   Bob.

I did it for fun, http://www.a7a10.net/BSA/E3L.htm , but could have used rivets or bought a new one.

That's why I recently replaced my chain with a belt drive

Dave,
Where do you live?
I've got one you can have, for the cost of postage.
