Here is a picture of my tool box. It measures around 190mm long and 240mm high. This was taken before I started restoring the bike.

Thank you for the picture and the measurements. This is crucial for swap meets. boot sales and other places one is hopeful! Is there any chance you or someone could post picture of how it's mounted? My friend has a SF in the town I live in, however, his tool box was missing and he had to make his. It looks great, but neither of us know how it should have been mounted. It appears form your picture that there is a strap that attaches behind the oil tank and another that goes to a clamp at the lower casting point for the rear plunger. Is there a another anchor? How doe it attach behind the oil tank?

I'm excited about my SF. It has been a decade of parts hunting, but it's slowly coming together.

There is a P clip attached to the frame as highlighted in picture 1 and the 2 straps attach to the rear mudguard as in picture 2. Hope that helps. Cheers

The toolbox on the very early plungers seems to be the same as the rigid frames. Is that what the SF has? Also, I thought the oil tank was special on the SF, with a larger filler cap.

 Yes GB, you're right. BSA would use up what they had, so early Plunger bikes came with the rigid style toolbox. Plunger Toolbox mount is a P Clip to the frame backstay, plus a pair of nuts and bolts to the  side valance of the rear mudguard. With the narrower width of the Superflash mudguard blade the brackets pictured position the toolbox in its normal relationship to the frame.

 Frame has an extra lug? similar to the brake pedal mount. What's that for?

Hi guys, firstly an apology I only have one of these and have had several PM's of interest, so the fairest way I can think of is to send it to the person who asked first.
The toolbox was given to me by an old guy who worked at a vehicle testing station I took my BSA to for years. As such I just want it to go on a bike and have post reimbursed. BIKERJOHNDAVIES was the quickest.

Attached photos of the holes and inside. I make no claim what its from, other than definitely BSA. I suspected a C series.

That looks like the correct box with the correct holes. Attached is a photo after installation. I believe that Mikes Classic Bike can furnish the required mounts as shown by Johns bike.

That'll teach me to give one away... anyway they are also used on the domestic m20's (not the military ones which are deeper) as well as the ZB goldstars that had the M20 type oil tank.

I recently bought a pretty ZB34GS which is missing some tinwear including the toolbox which I never thought I'd need
