Deudes!

Am I missing something or are you? According to the list, as I read it, there is no premium paint. All paint is 300 quid added to the base price. Please tell me if there is a different way to read the list. Of course, it could be a misprint.

Doh! *doh* ::hh:: Thanks for not being shy about pointing out my misunderstanding. It's all so obvious (and embarrassing) now.

Seems like the Indians are making the same marketing mistakes the old British motor industries have long been accused of, namely charging extra for a heater, or carpets or even metallic paint, or going back even further, charging for a speedo on bikes.
Green paint (at the assembly line stage) £300 cheaper than the other colours? Ridiculous. *eek*

Back when i was selling Bikes £300 would have seen you with a new Bonnie ! let alone a paint job !

Read the the road test the other day and all in all it seems not a bad bike , sod the supposed nostalgia  point just a basic does it go well ,is the price right, do I want a modern single ? I'd wait a yr anyway to hear of any
wriggles and buy a low mileage second hand ( save the tax ) one from  a born again biker who wanted something to polish for 6 mths Bob

G'day GB.
Thanks for posting that M8. First review I've seen. He didn't say what tyres are on it. Looking at those wet/damp roads I'd like good ones.
If I win lotto I'd buy one.
Cheers

Nice one GB, enjoyed watching that. Still think it's a shame they stuck a huge radiater on the front when royal enfield dont need to. *good3* *beer*

Hi All,
Re the "road test"
If the tester could pick a photo of an original Gold Star rather than an A10 (either an RGS or replica) it goes to show a real lack of knowledge or research ::hh::

Looking at the bike I am puzzled as to why they needed to make the pillion loop from 3-4 different pieces welded together  *????*  *conf2*

I lasted 10 minutes into the video before I got bored *sleepy*

G'day John.

Yes it looks like they used a mandrel bend off the shelf and welded two straight sections to it. Should have inserted a sleeve, V'd the ends, welded and then ground flush.
With all that electrickals EFI, ABS, USB's, etc it's a good job Lucas wasn't used.

Muskie,

I thought the exact same thing about the pillion loops, and I bet everyone else (certainly, those here)  thought the same.

A video from MCN comparing the RE Intercepter and BSA GS. I suggest you jump to 20:22 to miss a lot of pointless waffle comparing new bikes with old.

The Enfield has a radiator, just smaller.
