3/8 bsw or bsf? clean threads A10 dynamo
« on: 02.07. 2022 21:40 »
I need to clean threads on my A10 dynamo. Can i use my 3/8 BSW die instead of the 3/8 BSF? I know the tpi is different, but information I've been seeing is confusing...

Why not just buy the correct die? They're not rare..

Gday inflaymes.
A cheaper way if you just want to clean up a thread is to use a thread file. Available with 8 different tpi's, will even do our cycle thread.

I just bought the correct die. I was confused because someone had mentioned BSW dies and thought they were compatible.

Likely because to many, an Imperial thread is (incorrectly and generically) termed "Whitworth" when it could be BSF, BSCy, BSP, etc etc.
Americans seen particularly bad for this error. ;)
