have a look at this , got pics  http://forum.arielownersmcc.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=12739
That's interesting. Given that we've heard that those backplates are not very strong, does significantly improving the braking power seem safe?

It looks like the braking forces are taken by the internal alloy plate, bolted to the torque stay ?

Ah, thanks, I hadn't studied the setup very well.

Ha ha  I'm in the middle of the process of doing exactly the same thing to my arial front brake my SR does not have the correct front forks or wheels. I took my wife out to the pub on it at the weekend and it scared the life out of me how bad it was two up.
but I have been planning this all year slowly getting the parts togeather.
I bought a cast iron 8" full width front hub and a set of a65 fork lowers from a mate, and I'm at the stage of building the forks up with new stantions and bushes/oilseals and have spent about 3 hours trying to get the top bush circlip *problem* now to do the other *pull hair out*

I'll have to have new rims when the wheels are rebuilt but my ones at the moment are alloy and I'd prefer chrome ones

@tlmark

That's what I run in scabbytank (duetto type).  You should be able to fit the A65 TLS with no problem.

Good gravy. *smile*

Thats the plan, ;) I just wanted more options
