Seems like this picture may have been taken, maybe, around '58ish. The guy second from the right might be in his late 20s or early 30s (back then, young people looked older than they do now). In theory, he could still be around and about 100 years old. Any relation to you GB?  *smile* Also, I'm sure it's not a "typo," but "Norman" above the door seems like it wants to be "Norton."

Superb one GB. Really nice prial of CS Matchless singles. Be interesting if any of those folk are known to, or were related to, present members of the AJS & Matchless Owners. With your permission, might snaffle the pic and ask in that parallel universe?

(I think the Norman marque goes under the 'largely forgettable' heading  *dunno2* - apart from William the Conqueror I suppose I must add, living in Norman . . . dy.)

Those old time cameras had such great clarity and depth of field.

I checked the word 'prial', wondering if it was a typo;  it's a word I've not seen before 🤔

prial
/ˈprʌɪəl/
noun
(in card games) a set of three cards of the same denomination.

Mis-spent youth in smoke-filled bars GB, playing too much three card Brag - and usually departing poorer as well as over-served!  *sick* *sick*

(A less-loaded word than a 'thrupple' GB. Which used, I think, to mean a 'three of anything' and was certainly heard in dialect in places like Shropshire - but these days means a 'threesome' with somewhat different connotations.)

Well, yes. Indeed, Rex. A fine beast. No intention at all of impugning anyone's favourite first ride as it were. (Mine was blonder.)

G'day Folks.
The shop next door would have been my haunt as a kid. Smokes and lollies in one shop. Then next door for spark plugs. All I would need then is a bottleO.

Ah, I wondered if 'Sev' referred to Sevenoaks. Is that a location you know Andrew?

Just two ("to"?) letters away from greatness.

Norman. There were plenty around Kent (I was brought up at Farningham, not far from Sevenoaks).
The Norman B4 sports was very attractive - pretty cool back then, -had a quick for it's day Villiers 250 twin and even a little racey screen.
Very handy around the local lanes -lots of blind bends because of the hedges - watch out for farmer Giles half asleep on his ol' Fergy.
