My 2023 Gold Star
« on: 15.03. 2023 16:19 »
I don't know know if this is the right place for this.

I'm picking up my new BSA Gold Star Legacy this Saturday. I bought Fully Comp insurance for the bike from Carol Nash;  the premium was £256! The Golden Flash annual premium is £75. Other quotes for the new bike were higher.  I suppose as the bike is a brand new vehicle the insurance companies are being cagey.

Any policy on newer bikes can be pricey. They know that you're not going to be doing the miles on a 70 year old bike, but you certainly could be on a new one.

G'day Neil.
I didn't think that is a bad price.
I have all my eggs in the same basket. Five bikes (all on classic), Two cars, Home and Contents with Shannons all for AU$4200.
Cheers

Yes, John, I'm currently a member of four groups for these bikes!

I'm happy to learn that you are interested in the new bike; I fear that some here will not be interested. 🤔

Yes, the Plungie has not yet sold so I need to get both bikes into my shed until it goes. My plan is to drag the hydraulic hoist out into the carport; that should give me enough room to get the bikes in the shed. If the hoist is used to hold a bike it has to be central to the shed so that will not work for two bikes.

I'm very interested, to the point of maybe buying one in the near future, so your thoughts/opinions will be most welcome.
