85 year old buying a new BSA!
« on: 16.03. 2023 19:22 »
Here is Mr Ronald Bryant, 85 years young collecting his new BSA Gold Star from Global Moto - Motorcycles Direct 🔥

Ronald is a former Manx Grand Prix competitor on a modified BSA Gold Star in the 50’s and 60’s. He brought the original bike back in 1959 and rode over 44,000 miles in 1950/1960 on it. He still owns it, albeit in pieces but he hopes to rebuild it and has plans to give it to the Isle of Man TT museum! Ronald thinks he competed in 8 Isle of Man Manx GPs, his best finish was 11th. How incredible is that 🙌

That's such a good advertisement that I wonder if they gave it to him. I doesn't say he bought it.

Yeh, I told them I'm 73 so they offered me a bike for nothing £7000.👍

So now you have it you should take it to some swaps & rallies charging £ 10 a pop for a sip round the car park & £ 2 for having your photo taken on it.\Should earn it's keep in no time flat.

I don't have it. The dealer couldn't get it prepped in time for today. I've got to wait until next week 😭

Should have told him that it’s not only you but a whole internet forum waiting for it. You would have had it by now…  *smile*

There are six days between now and next Saturday. How much extra time do they need? On the other hand, it may be good news for the brand that they have so many that need prepping, or, yours isn’t really in yet. Oh, the pressure!

I've had a missive that my bike may be ready later today after all 👍

The thing is many brave punters placed their £500 deposit during 2022. I waited until I could get a test ride in January this year. It's possible that I'm jumping the queue.

Richard, I think the suggestion was early next week, not next Saturday.

This is off-topic but never mind. The dealers have contacted me again to say the bike cannot be completed today after all. I'll keep you updated.

Not speaking for others, but anxious to live vicariously as a new BSA owner.

I've never had a brand new motorcycle before.
It wasn't until I inherited money from the sale of my deceased parents house that I was able to buy a brand new car. After maintaining a string of old bangers the thrill of the new was real 😁
