G`day
« on: 21.01. 2010 01:58 »
G`day everybody, another aussie, my name is Jim, I have a `61 shooting star on the road and a `51 gold flash in bits and slowly getting done. Also a `15 K model BSA on the road and a couple of lesser makes in the twenties which I have played with and rallied for the last 30 ears. I have enjoyed reading this forum with its good advice and drivel, so I thought I ought to join and hope to contribute.
regards Jim

Brian,

From what I can see in your avatar photo, the color on that plunger sure looks like the color you see to left here and in other photos of my bike. Coincidence or mystery?

G'day Jimmy, what a great name. Welcome to the fold. wow a 1915 model, you'll have to tell us about that. The drivel here can get a little thick at times but always amusing. I think there must be a dozen of us aussies here now.
Cheers

Hello all, firstly welcome Jim. Secondly, i don`t know if this is what you call drivel,(i call it sad and bored),but here`s a list, it`s not definitive, and probably not that accurate, so here it is anyway. It`s a list of the country of registration of members of this forum as of today:

UK - 82
AUS - 24
US - 18
NZ - 7
Germany - 6
Norway - 3
France - 3
Brazil, Finland, Eire, Spain, Denmark, Canada, - 2 each
Thailand, Sweden, India, Cyprus, Argentina, Japan, Austria, Portugal, Holland - 1 each
Unknown - 61
I think i`ll go back to watching paint dry............... Rich

A.  Brazil, Finland, Eire, Spain, Denmark, Canada, - 2
B.  Thailand, Sweden, India, Cyprus, Argentina, Japan, Austria, Portugal, Holland - 1

If it's drivel, sign me up for a drool cup!

Rich,

I didn't do the research you obviously did, but, for a fact, we have at least 4 members in Group A and 9 in Group B, probabaly more in each, unless they have been dropped for inactivity or no recent activity.

Jim,

As you can see, we're really anxious to see some photos and read some stories. You can show photos before the 5-post limit by placing them on some photo server and including the link, if you're into that kind of thing.

Ah, you`ve spotted my mistake, it should read as 2 from each country in group A, and 1 of each in group 2!
I`m going to modify my original post now because i can now see it as you see it, and i`m still bored!

regards with a yawn  Rich *doh*

ps   I know the whole post is highlighted, but i can`t stop it doing it si i`m going to leave it as is. Now, is that paint dry yet......

G`day all, thanks for the welcome, I meant to say for the locals that I am in Victoria. Richard its supposed to be 38 degrees today.
The K model is a 550cc sidevalve with a three speed gearbox, its most unusual feature is a small diameter multiplate clutch inside the gearbox that was so successful that it was never used again, must have been awful with the oils of the day.
I will post some pictures when I figure out how to, my computer skills are pretty basic, its just about easier to put a rocker box on than get started here.
