Throttle cable
« on: 03.11. 2025 18:41 »
I am looking for the correct throttle cable for my 1963 a10 alternator model with a 389/45 Amal carb. There is no adjustment at the carb top. I have sent for 2 different cables only to find they were both to long after mid adjusters were adjusted as far as they could go. According to the workshop manual  the cable should be a 67-8531. The cables already purchased were supposed to be for this model.

The perennial issue with replacement cables....they never fit well.
Do you have a decent soldering iron?

Presumably the cables supplied were originally from Wassell. Is there as Wassell part number on the packet?

i never buy cables, make your own, that way you know they will fit, and once you have made one that works you can make a spare ,
