There is an empty hole(which I thought was from the mudguard bracket -old type ),seems too much space,if it does(also are there spacers on the bolt in picture 2 ?),thanks-steve

Hi Steve,

In answer to your questions:-
 
Top picture:
Yes, the mounting bolt goes right through the mudguard and there should be a spacer between the rear mudguard and each of the mudguard stays.  BSA part number 42-6900.

Bottom picture:
There should be a spacer between the frame and each of the engine plates.  BSA part number 42-4071.

i see your using the old bolts dont you think it would look better with new ones
its a shame to put rusty bolts back in or get them re-plated i would put stainless in
fit and forget just a thort
