hub collar spacer ?
« on: 16.12. 2009 20:46 »
Hi Chaps,
Another problem with starting just with a few parts rather than a complete bike.
The collar/spacer that goes between the drum bearing and the inside of the brake plate (half width type rear hub)seems to be holding the brake plate too far from the drum ie. the rim of the brake plate seems to be well above the groove in the drum rather than in it.Have I got the right spacer(No.45 in parts list) and can any one give me a depth of one of these before i regret putting it in the lathe and taking too much off!
Cheers Spyke

Spyke,
              The spacer is a "tophat" section total width 1/2". Large diameter - 1 3/4", small diameter - 1 1/8".
Each diameter is 1/4" wide.
The small section obviously bears on the bearing.
