So do some riders carry a thumping great chain or cable with them as they ride? Then chain the bike while at their favourite watering hole?

Ok, so the good old BSA brings out the convict in me, and I carry a ball and chain wherever I ride eh? How do you carry it while riding? Velcro it round ya waist? You certainly have me curious.

You don't get bikes stolen in the UK. You sent all the crooks, cricketers and footballers over here 200 years ago. LOL

Inbreeding and living in caves got too much for me, I must confess, I have not gone "Full Metrosexual", I can't come at showering everday, wearing "product" in my hair and having "boyfriends", all a bit lost on me.

Gav, you might find some comfort in knowing that I still appreciate a good fart joke.

big chain and lock, fits over shoulder and under heavy leather jacket -  would seem a bit uncomfortable but you forget about it after a bit

great for locking bike up -  or recreating chain fight for 60s biker movies

One fault with the "secret switch" idea, is that you can simply pull the kill wire from the mag and ride away.

I use a humungous lock and chain, and have a ground anchor in the garage, car parked in front of the doors. If that fails, there's always the 12 Gauge.

Seriously though, you might not be able to stop a thieving b;stard taking it away, but you can make life difficult, the longer it takes to get through your chains etc, the more likely they wont bother.

In fact, based on the theory that I have to open the garage doors to get the bikes out, therefore giving sight of the bikes, I always make a big show of fitting chains locks etc with the doors open so if anyone is watching they know that they would have several serious chains to cut through and that would take some time.
