Fork Re-assembly

I have taken on a unfinished project. The forks are stripped down.  Are there any golden rules or tricks to help me on my way.

Elliot, I did not catch the problem but you gonna need some tool to reassembly the front fork.
I´ve created one, very simple but useful.
