A10 headlight with underslung pilot
« on: 15.04. 2010 08:39 »
Hi,
I am looking at a genuine headlight for my '52 A10 with the underslung pilot light.
Just wondering whether it is worth the price Aus$450, I have seen the link on this site to a reproduction unit from the UK for 50 pound, are they as good as the original? (not after a nut and bolt perfect bike this time around, just don't like spending on things that don't work or don't fit)

I've used a couple of those repro headlights on bikes and they are not bad. Unless you are hell bent on 100% originality then definitely go for one. $450 is too much even for a original.

Can recommend this product and supplier, will need repainting when you get it.

Im also looking for an a10 plunger 1953 headlight with underlung pilot. I am in the uk though so i guess we are still being victimized by the EU as we had the cheek to leave. Sounds like its cheaper to export to oz!

I used the underslung pilot on my C11in town becauseI couldn't feed enough wattage for dip beam at 30mph. Kept getting pulled by law for not showing a front light. Fitted a pilot in the reflector, end of problem. They're original to look at but useless to use today.
