Barrel

Have a look at this barrel and see if you can identify it. I also have the matching head.
I do know what it is but just seeing if the rest of you do!

OK Trev, I'll go first. Is it an ariel huntmaster ? I don't like the way the flange is wasted at the back, could be prone to cracking.
Cheers

It looks like I owe you a cigar each!
I have a Huntmaster engine sitting on one of my benches as a curiosity but it has a blown barrel as per A10, half of the flange is missing.
This barrel recently came up on e-bay so I managed to get it to make the engine a viable project for someone in the future.
These barrels seem to be extremely rare now. The last one I saw at a swap meet was priced way out of my league.

Good find, looks like it has plenty of meat left for re-bores?
That engine will definitely be of use to someone.

Hey Trevor,
Looking at that photo, I think it might be your shout for
the oranges!  "Better for you than Cigars".

Cus,
Those are oranges and tangelos. Not ripe yet but I will only get what the cockatoos leave me.
They have started on the mandarins already. I hate cockatoos!

I hate cockatoos!

Funny, some people (not me!!!) here in Europe keep them as pets.  *lol*

Just realized how obsessed I am. Didn't even see the orange trees 'cause I was so focused on the barrel....

MG,
A lot of us hate them. A flock of them ate my verandah.

Hmm, sounds like a real pest.

Maybe you should consider getting some of the other BSA products to keep them away...

They also produced these special cylinder barrels for use with non-returning pistons for instance.  *smile*

Afaik, prices range from 400 to 1500 Euros depending on the type, but I think people do prefer them alive and without lead-filling.  ;)

Andy,
Thanks but they are the same rods as in a BSA engine. In fact, everything internal is BSA A10.
