Was the centre line of the rims on the 1951 A10's ever painted or were they all chrome?
Cheers Russ

Hi Russ,
Roy Bacon's BSA Twin Restoration book states that the wheel rims for 1950-51 A10 models were chrome plated with centres painted either black with gold lining or beige with red lining depending on the coour scheme of the bike.

Hi Beezageezauk
Thanks for that info. Should I try and get myself a copy of Roy Bacon's BSA Twin restoration book. Haven't seen one in my short time as a BSA restorer.
Cheers Russ.

I have 2 bacon books, Twins and Triples and Restoration and I not seen the rims painted like this in the pictures. I took it that it was the center of the hub that was painted either black or gold and not the middle of rim.

Stuart

Stu,
The middle section of the rim was painted and lined until 1952.
The new paint scheme came out in 1953 with a different tank layout and plain rims.
