new member with questions.
« on: 02.06. 2010 21:56 »
hello newby here

i'm from ireland, have a 1957/8 A10 golden flash that i am currently restoring , and will have loads of questions in the coming months.
i bought this bike even though i couldn't really afford it at the time , it had been the victim of a previous owner trying to cafe racer/rocket goldie the thing , i am currently converting it back to humble but honest golden flash spec , a friend was restoring a b31 to goldie spec kindly gave me his unwanted mudguards and headlight nacelle and also a pair of ariel hubs.
what i'd like to know is what sort of fork legs were used with these hubs ? when i got the bike it had a single side 8 inch hub in the front and it wasn't sitting centrally, the legs i have don't have split caps on the ends but one side is threaded.
if someone has a picture of the type i need i'd be very grateful.

thanks.

G'day Bonny, welcome.
the hubs were used in '56-'57. I can't find part #s for the forks or swing arm but know the axle holes in the swing arm are different on each side. I will take a couple of pics and post later.
Cheers
