Steering stop

Hi All, My A10 failed the MOT today because there is no steering stops. I can't see how to fit one up. On the bottom yoke there is an extension on either side that is flat, with a shallow hole in each. This must be one half, but what are they supposed to hit on? Any ideas would be great, and if someone could post a picture that would be even better. Thanks , Tony.

Hi Tony - the bottom joke should butt up against the anchor plate, part no 42-5014, it fastens to cross piece between the front down tubes and is held up also as part of the damper.

Hi Tony!

You will need the stop plate that is mounted to the frame and is part of the steering damper assembly. The flat "ears" of the bottom yoke will hit this plate.

Guys, Just been looking at draganfly's catalogue and am a bit confused, I know that the anchor plate 73, is for a swinging arm but some of the other bits share a number, I have got the rod and bottom nut so I think I need; steering damper anchor plate 73, thackery washer 74, star washer 68, friction disk (1 or 2)? and the various fixings.Sorry to be such a pain, Cheers Tony.

First of all, it would be helpful for us to know what model we are talking 'bout, from your last post I assume it is a s'arm model? If so, you will need the following parts (using BSA numbers and part names):

67-5021  Adjuster (rod + bakelite knob assembly)
67-5328  Screwed collar (the bottom nut, visible in my pic)
I think that's what you have already.

24-6035 Lockwasher (goes on the rod, between the bakelite knob and the chromed top nut on the top yoke)
65-5380 Washer (friction disc, only one fitted between the anchor plate and the bottom yoke)
42-5014 Anchor plate
25-5247 Star washer

You need bolt 28-2338, nut 02-0049, washer 02-0923 and lockwasher 36-0382 for fixing the anchor plate to the frame. If memory serves me right this would be a short 5/16" BSC bolt.

Oh, beaten to it!

I believe with your anchor plate you will only need 1 friction disk.
2 are required for models for use in conjunction with bottom plate 25-5241 & anchor plate27-5152
certainly early A7's, plungers & maybe others as Draganfly lists for A/B/M 1946-63
BTW anyone got one? Draganfly out no luck elsewhere.
