Rigid frame A10

Hi all BSA buffs. I have read in books etc that A10 were available in plunger or rigid frame but I have never seen a pic of a rigid A10. I have a rigid A7 frame and A10 bits I was thinking of putting one together. Did the rigid A10 have valanced front guard like plunger or were they like the small A7 type. Did they have the same fuel tank and 8 inch front hub. Anybody got an A10 rigid bike they can post pics of or email me or know the differences between plunger and rigid. thanks in advance, Terry in Australia.

Thanks Jeff yes I have seen this one on the net its a really nice bike. I've never seen an original A10 rigid though. I'd like to know the differences between the A7 and A10 rigid bikes. Someone out ther must have or know of one.

Hi, Frame looks to be a proper rigid a7/a10, front end is wm20 girder,This is the bike despatch riders must have  dreamed of, Mind you I don,t know if i would fancy girder forks at speed. All the best Dave

Oh boy! THAT is nice... I would love to have a bike like that.... think I'd prefer it in black and chrome.

Dave, you'd be surprised at how smooth girder front ends can be... I have got up to 64mph on my Girder/Rigid M21 and find that providing the dampers are set right. There is not alot of difference between the girders and teles.

Hi, L J This is a nice machine I agree, I was going to build one on similar lines, I have a spare M20 front end & a 1953 plunger frame to convert to rigid also a c11g tank with speedo mount .The idea was to make a machine using bsa parts that looked like they belonged to each other,as this bike does..As for girders I have a WM20 i have ridden at 60mph+ & have had the front end bounce across the road on bumpy backroads towards the bank (keeps you alive) but on reflection I enjoy the feel of these forks and they do work well if you respect there limits. Hi Terry,
If your A7 frame is the one piece type then I don't think they were ever used on the A10. When the plunger and rigid versions were both available the rear section was detachable so you could convert from rigid to plunger.
