I think what your talking about is what t we call copper slip in UK, not outrageously expensive here ( and you don't need a lot per job )
Never thought about using it on a head gasket, a good idea though - nice one

It sounds like the grease that gets used on brake assembly.

Hi, been on vacation and just now saw the post.
I'll have to look when I get home. The stuff I'm talking about comes in an aerosol spray can, is NOT grease or anti-seize, and is very sticky stuff once it's sprayed onto the copper .....

on my a10 i use no primary case gasket i just put clear silicon on both surfaces let it get tacky then bolt up i never get a leak that way.
