A10 Chainguard
« on: 26.07. 2010 21:35 »
The chainguard on my '61 Golden Flash is sort of a pain.

It's really hard to mount it so that it doesn't rub on the chain somewhere, the least little warp, bend, gravel strike, and suddenly it's graunching against the chain.   Also, a couple of the little captive nuts have come off, and I've had to bodge it up with through-bolts.

I originally wanted a fully-enclosed chainguard, but now that I've seen how much trouble the open one is, I'm glad I didn't get the full one!

Does anyone sell a "sportier" chainguard, maybe one that just covers the top run of the chain and doesn't have so much rattly metal in it, that will fit an A10 nicely?

Goldie one fits, available in lots of dealers but no doubt many are made far east,
I have one on mine it fitted no problem, chrome looks OK but time will tell
All the best - Bill
1961 Flash - stock, reliable, steady, fantastic for shopping
1959 Rocket Gold Flash - blinged and tarted up  would have seizure if taken to  Tesco
