'Minimum Oil Level'
« on: 26.09. 2010 21:21 »
Hi,
Getting a bit further on and gettin round to sorting the oil tank and pipes - I've a 'Minimum Oil Level' transfer for the oil tank; what position should it be placed at? Common sense suggests about two thirds from the bottom of the tank - does anyone have a better, more precise or knowledgeable suggestion?
Or is it a random thing??

Cheers in advance  *smile*

Roadrunner,
There was enough left of my original oil level decal to take a measurement before refinishing the tank.  The bottom of the decal should be 5 1/4" from the bottom of the oil tank. Mine is a 1953 A7.

Good luck with your project.

Hi Tom,
You're reply was just in the nick of time! Only 10 mins before seeing your reply had I positioned the decal a tad lower than the 5.25" - managed to reposition to suggested distance. Many thanks
Also thanks to a10gf - saved the plunger sales brochure pic for future reference.
