Could someone email a pic of a S/F triplex clutch?  It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

It is the same as the duplex clutch except it has an extra row of teeth. Likewise the engine sprocket.

In the back of the 53' parts book there is a supplement section covering the Super Flash. The funny thing is it doesnt list the clutch. Maybe not all Super Flash's had a triplex clutch ?

Unfortunately not Jeff, its just a list of parts and part no's that are specific to the Super Flash. I can scan it and post it if you would like.

CG,

Not sure if I'm muddy-ing the waters here, but, have you read the previous topic:

Topic: starting from scratch - what clutch?

There's a few A10 pics in that post using A50/A65 triplex clutches.

Not S/F  triplex clutches....... but could be related ?

Hey Scotty,

I've never seen a genuine S/F triplex clutch, so I have no idea of how close they look to an A65/A50 style.  I assume they would differ.  I have a few A65's around and have never considered adapting a later clutch to an A10 or A7.  I always tried to build the bike they way BSA did, blemishes and all.  I am looking at building a special anyway, because I bought a frame that had been welded up for flattrack, and I thought I could build a cool bike out of it. Maybe it will get a later triplex clutch.

The triplex clutch was not exclusive to the Super Flash.
I believe it was fitted to some plunger Flashes for the U.S. market.
I had an engine sprocket which was fitted to the crank on a '53 bottom end which had been imported to Australia from the U.S.
I gave it to a bloke who had a triplex basket which he had picked up at a swap meet. He still has them somewhere in his shed.
As I said earlier, it is just like a duplex basket with the extra row of teeth as is the engine sprocket.
It is much smaller in diameter than an A65 clutch to fit in the chain case.
