One or Two Gaskets
« on: 20.12. 2010 12:06 »
My basket case A10SR is coming on slowly, but I have come aganst a small prob, whil'st prepairing to fit the back half primary case to crank case one of my spares lists states 2, 43-7509 round gaskets another list says 1, which is correct and in what order are they fitted.

Hi Old Git

There are two round paper gaskets with a round steel plate in between.

Hello Pete!

parts list before 1960 have 1 gasket listed, later ones state 2 off. Dunno why  *dunno*
I have however fitted 2 on my bikes without any subsequent problems, in the following order: crankcase-gasket-spacer ring-gasket-inner primary cover.

Hi Pete,
As others have said, use two, one either side of the metal spacer. I've used Wellseal on all surfaces, just to try & keep things oil-tight. My A10 is 1962...
Hope this helps..
