intoduce me holland
« on: 01.01. 2011 20:49 »
Hello there, its a nice forum you've got here and i'm new to you all.My name is alex and live in holland.Bought my first BSA A65 L 1970 (oiltank) in 1987 i was 17 years old with not a driving licence yet, the first year wasn't without troubels :ignition, big end faillure, sticking valves etc etc, 1989 i was fet up with the bike and took it apart, that year i restored the bike totally with big approvements since then the engine didn't give me any troubles ,over the past years i did only maintence to the bike.In prox 1993 i bought an imported A10 GF 1951 plunger from yougoslavia before the war overthere, looked good but was really poor state when i dismanteld it, then we bought a house ,got married and have 2 kids .Suddenly i'm 41 and got some spare time and took the boxes out off the cellar where it was stored for years.pikking up where i left it. It becomes a great machine, had bought then a great deal of new spares. But have lots of quistions.I'm member of the dutch bsa owners club and joined them forum, but there is littel response. this forum lives, hoping to get good contacts.

Welcome, Alex. Hopefully your A10 will be more reliable than your A65 (they usually are ;)) My only holiday in Netherlands was on a BSA when they had the BSAOC international rally there. The Dutch club put on a good event and the country seemed a lot more biker friendly than UK.

Welcome Alex!
I have found this Forum to be a great place for knowledge, sympathy when things don't go according to plan and general BSA companionship. I am sure you will find the same here.
Have happy memories of holidays in Holland (family, not by bike so far!) & we'll be back for Floriade according to my wife, if not before!!

Welcome to Holland, looking forward to some nice story (and some pictures) of bits-in-boxes in a cellar turning into a fine A10 out on the street ! Ask for anything, you'll get help.
