My 1952 BSA Golden Flash

Hello,my name is Brian and I am from California,i am 38 years old and here is my bikes story.
It started life as a chopper BSA with a peanut tank.My dad spent years in the 80's getting it back to stock,ish form.
Well dad sold it in 1984 and he passed away in 2010.We never found it....until my little brother went looking on the Jockey Journal with pics of dads BSA.
Just so happens one of the guys remembered seeing a BSA sold a couple years ago,so we track it down and find the guy the bought it only lived about 4 hours away.
Amazingly the BSA looked un-changed from the 80's and it still ran,LOL.
So I will be buying my dads BSA in early 2018 as I get the funds together.

Cant wait.

It will be great to have dad's bike back in the family. I like the plungers the best.

 Hola BJ- Good luck with the re-purchase, hoping it all goes smoothly and welcome in advance to Plungieworld *smile*...Your Dads' taste is well regarded, It's fairly much in the style of mine, apart from colour.
Started building in about 1977/8 a on average '52 A10 -built from bits 'n pieces never resto intended -maybe 'personalised'
Have a '74 850T Moto Guzzi since '92-best thing I ever bought doesn't need a kickstart 'cos it bump starts sooooooooo(mostly) easy

Thanks for all the warm welcome guys,I am in Tehachapi,CA about 3 hours north of LOs Angeles.
This definetly looks like I came to the right place,i just ordered a Hayes BSA A7-A10 500-650cc service manual to get me started learning about the Brit bikes.
Ive also never ridden a Brit bike so I hear I will have to learn to shift on the right side.LOL

I've read some critisms of the accuracy of that book so check here before doing anything.

I once worked at a Honda, Puch & bicycle shop. I'd ride my BSA to work and then take a Honda out for a test ride. You soon learn to convert your foot functions. Even now, not having ridden left foot gear change for forty years I occasionally press the wrong pedal!

to confirm GB view I had a ride on a Kawasaki W65 a few years ago and found no problem with the gear shift, at the first junction whaere we had to stop I did manage to put the wrong foot down, quickly realised and changed leg, other than that no problems

Awesome I wont be tearing anything down,i talked with the current owner about dads BSA and he said it rides amazing for a 67 year old bike.
he said he didn't have the engine open in the time he has had it.
If I do run into something I will def be hitting you guys up here,thanks again for this lovely forum and all your guys knowledge.
