A7 petrol tank rack
« on: 21.02. 2011 14:13 »
I have come across an A7 petrol tank for a plunger that has the holes for a rack. It looks to be original holes. I have never seen a rack on plunger or rigid A7s.
Has anyone seen these before and what model are the for?
1950-53 A10 rigid/plungers, 1958-61 A10 super rockets, 1947-50 A7 longstrokes, 1949 Star twin,
1951-54 A7 plungers, 1940s M21, WDM20s,
1948-50s B33s rigid/plunger/swingarm, 1948-50s b31s rigid/plunger/swingarm

Sounds like a Triumph wannabee!

Actually I'd go along with Wilko's suggestion, can't think of anything else. There is a nice picture in the Roy Bacon book of Twins showing a Nottingham Police Motorcyclist, I believe on a Plunger bike, I have not got my book to hand to take a look, I seem to remember him holding a telephone receiver with the set mounted on top of tank. Wonder if it is the tank your referring to?

There was a very nice A10 Police petrol tank at one of the autojumbles for quite a while for only £40 wished I had had it now.
