A10 Primary Chaincase Screws
« on: 22.02. 2011 20:13 »
Dear All,
an anyone help with the lengths of primary case screws for a late S/A A10?  I have a copy of the excellent fasteners list posted here but there's an puzzler on it!
My bike was previously owned at some time by someone who liked to mix 'n match fasteners.. I've sorted out the timing side (some of the primary ones were found there) & am now correcting the primary side.
No problem with the seven longer (1 7/8" ones) , I have nine of those!!!
The fastener list shows two shorter types, 67-1706 and 67-1711. There are two of one and three of the other. The only problem is that the list shows them both to be the same size :  1/4 x 20 x 1 5/8

I guess that one should maybe be 1 3/8 - can anyone confirm if this is so and how many of each I'll need?

Many thanks,

Adrian

Sorry I'm not sure and don't have the info with me at work. But a thought did occur to me, the threads into the inner chaincase go right through so it wont matter if one is a bit long providing its not unsightly, or fouls on anything and has sufficient thread on the shank. The longer ones go where the dowels are.

Thanks A10boy,
It's the Shepton Jumble in just over a week so I'll get a couple of each so that I can experiment!

Cheers,
