Rear Wheel spindles
« on: 10.03. 2011 06:21 »
The bike I have had been hacked around a lot, and some parts were missing, so not being an engineer, I would be greatly obliged if could someone advise the following (as it is not clear(at least to me) on the drawing)

The Bike is 1958 BSA Super Rocket A10

The Manual shows for the Left Hand side rear wheel (Type 13,)
The Spindle Nut................42-6077
Spindle washer.................42-6078
Spacer Collar....................42-6324

Where does the collar go?

On the outside of the rear swinging arm, with the spindle washer, or is it part of the hub on the inside of the Swinging Arm

i.e. Should there just be on the outside of the swinging arm on each side
Left Hand Side ........Nut plus Washer
Right Hand Side.......Spindle plus washer

Thanking you all in anticipation

G'day Roadrocket649,
the washers on the outside as you thought, the spacer on the inside of the S/A.
Cheers
