Headlight brackets...
« on: 16.03. 2011 17:46 »
Evening guys...I just bought some headlight brackets of the bay and was a little suprised when I opened the parcel just now, surely this isnt right? How do they attach with no tabs for the fork pinch bolt? They are suposed to be off a Road Rocket. Can anyone confirm if there right or wrong, Cheers.

Hi
Not sure if this will help purchased from George Prew a few years ago for my Super Rocket as yet not fitted  them, but will give you an ideal what you require.

From what I know, definitely not off of an A10. Body too short, ears too triangular, slots too slotty (holes-only for A10). I don't think they are A50 or A65 (shorter than A10, slot on one side, but still had curvy ears). Regarding the tabs? Maybe they were cut off due to damage. That's where my expertise (word loosely applied) ends. Maybe they are off some much later BSA single or not BSA at all. I won't be offended when someone chimes in to give more complete info, or, for that matter, more correct info.

If it was me, I would try to get my money back.

Cheers (Not just a bar in Boston.)

Definitely not BSA.
Road Rocket brackets are long, extending over the seal holder.

Cheers guys...there not for a RR, I wanted to try them on my A65 bobber so I wasnt fussed what model Beeza there off as I know that A10 shrouds will fit the A65. As I'm not familiar with what should be on a Road Rocket I just pressumed them to be what the advert said. I'll contact the seller.

Can't speak to the A65,  but I'm pretty certain that A50 ears won't fit because the top yoke fork holes are dropped an inch versus A10.  Curious to know if A65 is the same,  with the dropped holes,  that is.

Just dropped a tape measure on them and there way to large a diameter, comparing them to some A10 long shrouds I have there enormous...perhaps there of a Harley!!

Richard, do you mean the dropped yoke fitted to early unit twins? No they wont fit those but I have some A10 shrouds without ears and they fit the later pull back top yoke fine.
