Hi
I am new to this forum and need some help. I have a BSA A10 Golden Flash, plunger built in 1951. It is currently black but I have a picture which shows that this make of bike was originaly produced in a golden colour. I would therefore, like to paint mine into this golden colour.  Can anyone help me with the paint number or specific details for the correct colour? I believe it is called Cadmium. Alternatively does anyone know of a supplier for this paint? I live in Austria so the paint would have to be sent over if this is possible? I can upload the picture I have if you are unclear what I mean. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me on this. Thanks, Oldieschrauber Arno.

Hi Arno!

Nice to have a fellow countryman on the forum!

You will find all the information you are looking for in this thread, incl. some interesting thoughts about "original" colours:

Btw, the 1950 colour is called "Polychromatic Beige" (I think it must be the same for 1951), but that colour scheme was optional. So it was either that, or black. You are free to choose whatever you like best.

If you need anything, write me a personal message, I think I'm not too far away (Bezirk Neunkirchen, NÖ).
By now I dare to say that I know a thing or two about these bikes, so feel free to ask.

Viele Grüße, Markus

And the beige for 50 & 51 was applied over the top of the black which is what makes it so appealing.
As for the "correct" colour, there is no such thing.
From new, the bikes were oft different shades of beige on every painted part. The quality control on colour was not very good.

Hi, If you go to www.rsbikepaint.com and enter the details of your bike it will show the colour. I did this giving your bike details and it says two colours were available. Nutley Blue or Polychromatic Silver Beige Pearl.

Hallo Markus!
