Just for the record (8" single sided brake)

I know I am dim, but I will ask anyway. BSA 8" single sided brake, which of the two shoes is the leading shoe? Am I correct in thinking that it is the top shoe? I am asking this because I intend file a bevel on the lining.

Logically, I'd assume the shoe that lifts against the wheel rotation from the cam. So, on my bike the operating arm is on the right hand side when looking at the outside of the backplate, meaning the bottom shoe lifts against the wheel rotation when in forward motion. The top shoe is trailing the wheel/drum rotation so is the trailing shoe. Does all that make sense?
