the last time my bsa run this time last year , I had encountered Richter scale vibration, primary case bolts were dropping out, I was loosening my fillings and getting vibration white finger and feet. This did not reduce my wifes enthusiasm for the beast
I completely lost interest and threw it in the shed and played with my lambretta 1962 tv200 replica instead, even though I wasn't happy with that either , crap paint job by a professional ??? ( my neighbours best mate and brothers pal so could not complain much without falling out with some of them), I usually do them my self, he missed areas, sides, dinks and used a very camp purple rather than the one I specified and the engine wouldn't run well ( I built that) so ended up selling it and buying another real one in very rough original condition which i have just rebuilt along with two other engines from bits for other lambretta projects.
I am just about to put both old death traps on the road one tatty mod style 1963 tv 200 and my rocker style 1960 super rocket engined a7, I can perhaps pop down to brighton and beat my self up. however the vibration on both of them did a pretty good job, bsa won in this regard.
Back to the BSA
Very tight primary chain can cause bad vibration?????? one poster states
The teeth on gear box adjuster kept slipping previously allowing the chain to tighten I bet its that, I feel a replacement parts purchase coming on.
