Check out how not to kickstart a Norton International at the same site. He's taking it too far past top dead centre.

I was a bit puzzled over the remark "it has a kick start so it must be an international", would he be meaning - as racers might be bump started

All the Internationals had a kickstart, a Manx is bumped. It had a Manx norton cylinder head to add to the confusion
