Rear shock bushes

Has anyone else had this problem? Bought new rear shocks, and the bush inside diameter is slightly to large for the bolts. All of the rear shocks that I have seen advertised have the same size bush 10 mm. Original imperial size is listed as being 3/8". The difference between the bolt size and the bush is to small to be shimmed, but I am not happy with the loose fit and resulting play. Does anyone have a remedy?

Replace the bushes, John.
The correct ones should still be available. You shouldn't have to replace them on new shocks as the manufacturer surely knows that these things are going onto Imperial sized machines.

To my mind, slightly loose is good enough on shock end bushes. They won't rattle around when the bike's weight is on them and the nuts are done up.

Trev, I did order a set of new bushes, and guess what? the same problem is apparent. Triton Thrasher, I think I shall follow your advice.

hi,the 10mm is to loose on a 3/8" bolt, all the shock manufacturer's have both sizes available,i wouldnt have a loose fit on your shocks, otherwise the rubber bush will seperate from the steel sleeve,
