Hi All

The transfer from UK to Australia has finaly been completed, and now it's on with the rebuild of my 1957 A10 plunger. I have done a "dry" rebuild, to get an idea of what i need.
So first off I am looking at the nuts and bolts that hold the front and rear guard to frame, e.g. Support Bridge, stay, and front mudguard stand and rear mudguard support bracket. Are these a painted item ? galvanised ? Zinced ? bright steel ?
Secondly can anyone recomend a chrome plater for my tank near ACT, although I will travel for right job.
And thirdly how the heck do you remove the pin in the hinge on rear guard  *help*, and can I still get the blind rivits for the hinge.

They were cad plated a finish that is illegal to do today ( and rightly so ) .
The best match will be to use stainless nuts & bolts.
Polish them then dip them in stainless steel pot cleaning fluid.
This will etch the surface to give the correct looking dull finish
