hi all on fitting a siamese system to a a10 super rocket how much clearance should there be between the left pipe and frame down tube?

Depends on the system as there are many different versions. About an inch on mine, perhaps a bit less. I can measure it if you want it more accurate  *smile*
My system is new, but pretty crap as the small left side pipe is fractionally too small in diameter and so is loose in the head AND where it fits in the rest of the pipe. I've had it apart three times, welded bits on, used different fillers and pastes... but all to no avail - it came loose again on a run out yesterday.

hi thanks for reply mine fits ok. i am just worried about burning the frame paint as i only have about 1/4 inch gap

G'day Raceman,
Roof & gutter silicone (neautral cure) is the go for caulking your exhaust joint, leave to dry for at least 24 hrs. though,
also, I have used "Rescue Tape", holds up well,

I got my siamese system on ebay (jrpclassics) and it is generally good quality and fits well. Initially however it was within about 1/16" of the downtube which was far too close. I lopped about 3/8" off the end that goes into the head and that seemed to sort it out OK.

Agree with Cus re silicone which works well for exhausts.

It's getting on for 1/2" which seems OK but I have the head off at the moment so can't be more accurate.

hi all now that i have cut a bit off of left exhaust pipe to get the clearance i find that the heat ring wont fit properly against the cylinder head any suggestions welcome

at this point I went back to twin pipes for the time being as there were other things wrong with the pipes  but my next move was going to be to modify the ring, taking metal of front of one sode and rear of the other side so that it would sit square.
My thinking was if it went wrong it was not a lot of money to replace

hi bill thanks for reply i think twin pipes are my best option too. as knowing my luck i would spend a lot of time filing it then tighten up and snap it.

If you decide to use single pipes I purchased mine from Armours Bournemouth complete with silencers and brackets the cooling fin rings and clamps were of poor quailty so I sent them back for refund with no problems.

The fit was very good but some forum members have had problems.
