Hello good members of the forum *smile*!

Anyone who can help with me the timken parts numbers for the A10 frame headstock bearing conversion (need #s for both cone and tapered bearing)? Are they the same bottom and top?

Cheers

Pato,

I did a search and found a bsa goldstar restoration thread on the tonup forum. It has great pics, one of which is of the headstock bearing set up. The part number is SKF 32006 X/Q. Haven't bought it yet, but once I do I will post if there are any problems.

Those SKF's are metric bearings, they must need some mods to make them fit.

Dimensions - d (inside diameter) 30mm
Dimensions - D (outside diameter) 55mm
Dimensions - B (width) 17mm

On my B44 I matched the ID and had to get a bigger OD which I had ground to size on a centerless grinder.

I used this Timken online selector to get the available parts in the size range you are interested in, just be warned not all the part numbers listed are in production.

Kommando,

Thanks for the info. I thought about that too. I'll see what mods will be required when I get around to buying the bearing.
