Makes life easier Rockthedog.
if your replacing them then you can destroy them if you so wish, be careful when removing them not squash the fork leg or distort it by gripping the mudguard stay  bracket in a vice

Yes it,s a piece of tube with two small extension pieces on the end which engage into the bottom of the fork seal holder you can then unscrew them. You can see on the literature section   ( http://www.bsawiki.co.uk/index.php?title=Chapter11)   the picture headed dismantling the tool is at the top. You can buy them or make one. Usual suppliers or of course E bay. All the best Goldy

Hiya Mal, welcome to the forum,
Waiting to do the same job myself. Bought a fitting and removal tool
from Burton Bike Bits, part no; 1161-3005. £19.50+vat.
Somewhere on the forum someone shows how to cut down the right size tube
leaving two pegs at the end to slot inside the holders. They then weld handles to it.
Beyond my capabilities I'm afraid, hence the above! Let us know how you get on. Cheers
Regards, Geoff.

Hi Mal
Just a reminder if you have a nacel or fork shrouds you will need to pull the fork tubes through them into the top yoke, some guys have used a broom handle screwed into the tube but did not work for me.

In the end I borrowed a tool for it.

Regards
Nick

I have always found it works better to stand on the tool then place the fork leg on the toll and turn the leg with a dummy axel.
This will be very messy if you do not drain all of the oil out first

Hi everyone, i recently fitted new seals and holders to myA7, even though i have made several special tools in the past i had nothing suitable in my tool box for this job, but i do have a pair of thick red rubber gloves, you know the ones like the bin men wear, clean and dry them well and they give good grip, did the job no problem, oh the other thing you will need  is a great big pair of hands, iv'e allways got them with me, i,m sure everyone has a friend in the trade with suitable mits, allways worth a try before going to any expense, cheers. All the best Ian
