Ariel front hub / fork slider question

Greetings

I'm thinking of putting an ariel front hub on my A10 project and I realise that the front fork sliders will be different than the ones I have.
My question is :
Are the fork sliders that work with the ariel style front hub exclusive to the ariel front hub arrangement or will the later forks as used with full width cast brake work   ????

Would anyone have a close up picture of the fork sliders for the ariel hubs ? I was given a pair of ariel hubs but don't know what sliders to get.

Well I finally have a pair of ariel style alloy hubs (with out spindles) to put on my glacier paced A10 project 

While I still need a pair of suitable fork sliders to accommodate the front hub it suddenly dawned upon me that I have no idea what they look like i.e how they differ from the half width hub sliders or the later cast iron full width hub sliders 


Any close up pics or info of these fork slider arrangement/differences greatly appreciated

Hi Scotty I've got Ariel hubs on my 56 but have no knowledge of other sliders.

What differences do you think there are? The spindle? The brake locking arm?

Thanks for the reply.

My uneducated guess is that the main differences are the spindle type and how it is secured at the slider bottoms.
Could well be others as well.

On your '56GF is the right side fork slider eye threaded to accept the spindle ?

Any info greatly appreciated

Hi Scotty the spindle goes in from the left side and has a large nut on the right side, the slider is not threaded.

The Ariel axle is larger in diameter...
the Right hand slider has a recess that the axle buts into when fitted...
there is no lug on R/Hand slider to hold the brake plate..

they have a plate welded on the rear of the slider with 2 holes for guard instulation..
Pic 3 is BSA sliders & last is comparason...

Here is a bit more info for you Scotty.

The right leg is at the top in the pics.

The left leg has a 1" hole through it and the right has a 1" stepped down to 13/16".

sorry folks for been a bit daft but .....my fork leg sliders are the bottom clamp sort with a lug for the brake plate, what i want to know is what year these were fitted and any other info would be greatly appreciated wink2

Andy your legs are the type used from 58' onwards with the full width hub.

Scotty unfortunately the left leg is no good, its had a lot of rust inside it and is all pitted. The right one is ok and you would be welcome to it (free) but postage to Canada from Aus would be expensive.
