Indian Golden Flash fuel tank
« on: 19.01. 2012 13:05 »
Im considering buying one of the above for My 1950 Star Twin as a replacement while I refurbish the original .
Does Anyone know if this will fit ..havent been able to find out a year (Golden Flash tank) , other than badge holes is there a diference ?
Not sure if the Golden Flash tank looks a bit more bulbous ?

Regards,
Steve...

Hi  Steve
It depends on the year. I am after an early plunger flash tank myself
The gold flash tank does look larger.
In 1950 the plunger frame was used for A7, Star Twin & A10 Golden Flash. so the tank should fit straight on and if you only want it temporary you can always sell it to me for my 1950 flash project when you have finished your tank.

Steve
The lads at C+D Autos trial fit all their indian tanks onto a spare frame with yokes, forks etc to make sure they fit. Might be worth asking them.

the chrome tank was very rusty . So I decided to buy a new chrome tank on ebay from India
It arrived in about 20 days in a tin trunk  with no cost for posting and fitted my bike ok .

Hello ivor620, & welcome, am hoping you will like the forum.
About your Indian tank, is this the large plunger tank (no top mounting) with recess for the seat? Maybe you could post some pictures, overall & showing front and rear mounts.

Thanks
