How The %$%#@&^
« on: 28.02. 2012 03:31 »
TRYing to remove my rear wheel spindle / axle...  to take out the back wheel..
I have removed the 4 rear sprocket nuts...  & wound the rear axle on the RHS out about 3/8"..
I can feel that the axle thread is clear, but the %#@^%$  wont pull out..   *problem*
any ideas what I'm doing wrong..   ????

G'day WozzA,
try putting the sprocket nuts back on and (have a go ya mug) *smile*. Also try it with or without the brake stay arm attached and the RHS chain adjuster backed off. Make up a slide hammer to get in behind the head of the axle through the axle hole in the swing arm and use gentle persuasion.
Those hubs are 7" and the shoes are wider than BSA's. The sprocket and nuts are different as well.
Cheers

Just re-read your 1st post. Are you sure that the thread is all the way out? 3/8" doesn't sound enough. Also try it with the LHS stub axle a little loose.
Ha they all say that.
Cheers
