A10 Golden Flash 1950
« on: 09.03. 2012 20:19 »
Good evening all,

I'm pretty new to the forum thing, but think that all of this valuable BSA knowledge might be the key to getting on with my A10.. Have had it for nearly a year as i needed some extra muscle. The front wheel is not centralized in the forks.. Is this a non compatible wheel or do i need to work the hub over by way of the spokes. wheel seems to match all available diagrams but the all important shot is missing from every diagram i can find.
Also have a hood nacelle and need to know the part number for the suitable headlight bowl.

Very happy to have found you bunch and in total awe of the machinery on view.

Benny

G'day Benny, welcome to the forum.
Not bad for a 1st poster to get a picture in. *smile*
Make sure the forks are straight and parallel. Put wheel back in and snig it over with the spokes. Rim to be central.

Just be sure everything it sitting where it should be first.

The alloy backing plate should be hard up against the fork leg with about 3/8" of the backing plate out of the hub.

If its like this then as Muskrat says, you will need to shift the rim over with the spokes.

It could also be the way the wheel was built. The builder should have built the wheel central to the forks and rear wheel. (How do i explain this?) Imagine the hub without brake plate, face down on a flat surface, the rim should measure, say 3/8th inch off the flat surface. The measurement maybe more I don't know for the A7/10. Someone here might know that measurement for you to check.

Good of you to join us by the way, good luck in your rebuild!
