OILS AINT OILS

Hi all,

Was hoping someone could give the correct and best oils to use for my gearbox and engine oil tank and primary case. the motor has had a complete rebuild.

Oh, boy! This is going to develop into a significant thread!
Here's my stitch for the A10.
Engine: 20W-50 Castrol GTX, w/ a dab of Federal Mogul Assembly lube, STP or similar mixed in for the tappets
Gearbox: Red Line MTL
Primary: Engine oil

Hi Sol, as you named the thread OILS AINT OILS you will know who SOL was !  Probably everyone on the forum runs different oils so I'm not going to suggest any particular oil but just let you know what oils I use. I use Penrite HPR 30 in the front forks, engine and primary drive and 80/90 gear oil in the gearbox. I have been using these oils for nearly 30 years and thousands of miles in different bikes without a problem. I change the engine oil every 1,000 miles.
