New Piston rings - no markings
« on: 11.05. 2012 10:08 »
Hi All,

Recently got some new pistons from British Only in Austria and I have noticed there are no markings on the piston rings. As far as I can tell the top 2 rings are identical but the oil control ring seems to have a thicker lip on one edge, so I am not sure which way up it goes. Anyone have any info on which way up the ring should go?

Many thanks

Duncan

 G'day Duncan,
Never seen an oil ring with uneven "lips" scrapers. What breed are the pistons?

Hi Muskrat,

It might be my eyesight! another look and it seems they are equal. Pistons are the Taiwanese ones that have been disscussed on here before, there are no instructions about fitting the rings.

Cheers
