A10 rocker box

Hello
  Has anyone had a rockerbox that hits on the intake valve springs when you are reassembling it?  I thought the problem was the rocker box studs, but I installed new ones.  The bike is a 1961 Super Rocket.  Thanks Jeff

A bit more info would be good
are all the bits you reassembled the same bits you took off
Any new bits other than the studs
What work have you done on the bike

It's likely to have low clearance factor as the bottom of the box passes top of springs in installation due to the way the valves are angled, but as long as there's clearance installed should be fine, and so long as you have the correct spring collars? I believe the  rockets genuine box have the casting relieved where necessary in those areas(citation)? I had a casting dag in the inlet side that I carved off to be sure. Is that what you mean?

 G'day Jeff,
               the r/box should have the cast number underneath over stamped 1142. This has the casting relieved a bit to get over the springs. Is this the same box that came off? Did you give it a head job  no I mean valve grind so the spring collars are sitting out a tad further?

  I was just doing a head re-torque and install new copper r/box gaskets. I will look for this number on the rocker box.  Thanks for the help. Jeff

Hi Guys I just sorted through about 10 r/boxes and only 2 were maked 1142, and one was on my 56 road rocket! So far so good.  Thanks Guys.
